When recently asked how I felt about my short story Naamah’s Ark being long-listed for the Peter Carey Short Story Award, I was quoted as saying ‘I am tremendously surprised and quietly thrilled.’ (Which is just a fancy-pants way of saying ‘I am tremendously surprised and quietly thrilled to have my short story Naamahs’ Ark long-listed for the Peter Carey Short Story Award’.)
Congratulations to the 12 other long-listees and to the other 277 writers who stood by their own work and submitted their stories for this year’s Award.
In other (related) news, apparently I am working towards a short story collection with a central theme of ‘arks’ because I served up a small slice of nano-fiction called The Ark Angels on my blog today. Click here to read it.
